SOUTH COAST PHYSIO
Directed by Rebecca Seal
Rebecca qualified from Nottingham University in 2006 with a BSc in Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health Care Professionals Council and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Over the last 19 years she has gained extensive clinical experience in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has completed postgraduate training including training as a consultant physiotherapist and completing a specialist masters degree. Rebecca's clinical experience has included working in private practice, sports and the NHS. Owning her own clinic, South Coast Physio, has been a lifelong dream and she is proud to draw on her wealth of experience to offer you physiotherapy tailored to you. Rebecca's priority is to provide you with a first class service, ensuring that care is individualised and includes both 'hands on' and rehab perspectives to expedite your recovery.

Rebecca's previous NHS roles as an advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapist and through her training to become a consultant physiotherapist focussed on acute injury management. She has set up innovative musculoskeletal roles in the emergency department and fracture clinic. Subsequently she has very close working relationships with leading Orthopaedic surgeons in the area, should you require a surgical opinion.

Rebecca is a competitive cyclist and also a former triathlete and runner. She competed at National level for road cycling, Cycling Time Trials of varying distances, The Zwift eRacing Platinum Leagues and the UK Hill Climb National Championships.
Rebecca therefore understands the importance of getting back to the things that you love, as quickly as possible be that walking to the shops, or competing in a sport. She is here to help you to do just that and will use her knowledge and years of experience to understand your goals and develop evidence based treatment to suit.

More recently, Rebecca has had a baby. She enjoyed an active pregnancy and was fortunate to continue cycling throughout her pregnancy. She has since returned to competitive cycling, gaining a bronze medal at the UCI amateur time-trial in Scotland. She understands the importance of post birth rehabilitation, and although she is not a women's health specialist she can help with return to fitness post birth and conditions such as back pain in pregnancy and postnatal diastasis rehabilitation.

Finding out about you
At your first appointment Rebecca will need to complete a thorough assessment in order to understand your injury, your health and your goals.

As an experienced advanced musculoskeletal physiotherapist, Rebecca is highly skilled in assessing and treating anything involving the musculoskeletal system. This includes muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves, bones and joints. She will ask you some health questions and your reasons for seeking treatment which will be followed by a physical assessment. At the end of this assessment Rebecca will reason a diagnosis and explain this to you. Together, with you, Rebecca will explore your aims and goals and tailor treatment to suit.

Unlike other practices Rebecca will take the TIME to find out about you and your injury, she takes pride on this and will ensure that you feel better before leaving the clinic.
